Segments are mission-critical to your business on Bronto, giving you near-real-time targeting capabilities for email messages, automated workflows, dynamic content and much more.

But if you have a large number of segments, it can sometimes be hard to find what you’re looking for, much less organize your segments by campaign or common theme.

With the new Segment Labels feature, you can now organize your segments any way you like.

On the main Segments page, you’ll notice a new labels icon on the right next to each of your segments. Click the icon and you’ll be presented with a window where you can edit all labels for the respective segment. You can add a new label by selecting the ‘Add New’ radio button, entering your label name and clicking ‘Add Label.’ You can add as many labels as you like to any segment.

If you’ve already created some labels and want to reuse those, just select the ‘Add existing label’ radio button and choose from your existing labels list. This will save you the time of having to enter new labels from scratch and also help with accuracy and consistency if you’re basing your label hierarchy off of specific or recurring campaigns. You can also remove labels from any segment by clicking the ‘x’ next to the label you want to remove.

Once you have applied your custom labels to your segments, they will appear in the new Labels column. At any time, you can edit a label by clicking it in the column.

Note: Any changes to an existing label will also be applied to other instances where that label is applied. To delete a label permanently, make sure the ‘Delete this label’ checkbox is checked when editing a label.

Once your labels are set up, the real fun begins. You can now filter your Segments page by label by selecting the desired label filter from the new ‘Filter by Label’ dropdown menu at the top of the segments grid. This will filter your segments to only show the ones containing the selected the ‘Clear’ button next to the menu.

Segment Labels are just the beginning for this convenient new way to organize in Bronto. Many enhancements are already planned and we aim to expand this into other areas of the platform in the future. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, tell us what you think below. We’re always listening!
